Η διαδικασία δημιουργίας μιας χειροποίητης ορθόδοξης εικόνας του Αγίου είναι προσεκτική και χρονοβόρα. Επιλέγουμε με προσοχή το ξύλο και την τεχνική που θα χρησιμοποιήσουμε, συχνά χρησιμοποιώντας παραδοσιακά υλικά όπως κορμοί, φύλλο χρυσού και φυσικές χρωστικές.

They gave birth to a beautiful girl who was named Kyriaki because of the day she was born. From a very young age she decided to dedicate her life to the service of Christ. Her parents martyred by beheading when began the persecution of Christians by Diocletian.

Saint Sabbas was born in Moutalaska of Cappadocia in 439 AD. His parents were devout Christians and he decided at a very young age to dedicate himself to ascetic life. At the urging of Saint Efthymius, he went to a monastery in which the abbot was Saint Theoctistus. During his stay in the monastery, Sabbas was distinguished for his spiritual virtues as a result of which he received the miraculous gift.

Saint Ephraim the Syrian was born around 306 AD in Mesopotamia, likely in the city of Nisibis (modern-day Diyarbakır, Turkey). He was a renowned theologian, poet, and teacher of the Church. From a young age, he dedicated his life to Christianity, serving as a deacon and abbot. Throughout his life, he fought against heresies, such as Arianism, and wrote numerous theological and ethical treatises, as well as hymns and chants that are still used in the Church today.

Saint Gerasimus was born in 1509 AD. in Trikala, Corinth from a wealthy family. His father Demetrios came from the famous Byzantine family of Notarades. The Saint, at a young age, decides to go to Zakynthos to expand his education. His deep connection with the Orthodox faith leads him to Constantinople and then to Mount Athos, where he practiced as a monk. In Jerusalem, he was ordained a deacon by the Patriarch Germanos and was named Gerasimus, in honor of Saint Gerasimus of Jordan.

Ο Άγιος Θεόδωρος ο Τήρων υπήρξε μεγαλομάρτυρας της Χριστιανικής Εκκλησίας με καταγωγή από την Αμάσεια του Πόντου. Έλαβε το προσωνύμιο Τήρων επειδή υπηρετούσε στο Τάγμα των Τηρώνων του ρωμαϊκού στρατού. Ο Θεόδωρος έζησε την εποχή που ο αυτοκράτορας Διοκλητιανός εξέδωσε διάταγμα, σύμφωνα με το οποίο έπρεπε να γίνονται θυσίες στα είδωλα. Ως χριστιανός, ο Άγιος αρνήθηκε να λάβει μέρος στις θυσίες και ομολόγησε με σθένος τη πίστη του στο Χριστό με αποτέλεσμα να βρει μαρτυρικό θάνατο σε καμίνι. Η Ορθόδοξη Χριστιανική Εκκλησία εορτάζει τη μνήμη του στις 17 Φεβρουαρίου εκάστου έτους.

Saint Barbara lived in the 3rd century AD. in Heliopolis of Egypt, during the time when Maximian was the emperor of Rome. Her father was a wealthy pagan named Dioscorus who wanted to marry her to a man of the same religion. The Saint, being a Christian, refused and as a result Dioscorus denounced her to the local authorities. Barbara was horribly tortured and eventually beheaded by her own father who was punished for his act, falling dead from lightning.

Saint Basil the Great was born in Caesarea of Cappadocia in 330 AD. His parents were Basil and Emily. Emily took care to raise him according to the principles of Christianity. His brother was the great theologian Gregory of Nyssa and his sister was Saint Macrina. In 351 AD went to Athens where he studied rhetoric, astronomy, medicine and other sciences. There he met the later emperor of Byzantium Julian and Gregory of Nazianzus with whom he became close friends.
