Saint George Karslidis was born in 1901 AD. in Argyroupoli of Pontos. From an early age he showed his devotion to God and at the age of nine he became a monk and later a deacon. He was imprisoned and humiliated by the Stalinist regime in Georgia and even sentenced to death by shooting but he was miraculously saved. In 1929 AD settled in the settlement of Taxiarches of Drama where he lived the last thirty years of his earthly life.

After the death of his parents, he decided to become a monk and went to the Monastery of Saint David the Elder in Northern Evia. He was later ordained a deacon and an elder by the Metropolitan of Chalkida, Gregory.
